Continuing toward their goal of enabling millions to live and work in space, Blue Origin began developing New Glenn in 2011—a partially reusable orbital rocket named after John Glenn, the first American to orbit Earth. After years of development, New Glenn successfully reached orbit during its first launch on January 16, 2025. On its second flight, on November 13, 2025, achieved the program’s first successful booster landing. New Glenn plays a critical role in Blue Origin’s future objectives and in supporting NASA’s efforts to return humans to the Moon.
