With the vision of enabling millions of people to live and work in space, Blue Origin began this mission by developing New Shepard. A fully reusable suborbital rocket system, which achieved its first successful uncrewed launch and booster landing on November 23, 2015. Continued testing and flights led to the first crewed mission on July 20, 2021 (NS-16), which carried Jeff Bezos and three others beyond the Kármán line. New Shepard continues to launch reliably, demonstrating that reusability can dramatically lower costs and opens access to the edge of space.
