Following the success of Starlink and the Falcon family of launch vehicles, SpaceX accelerated the physical prototyping of Starship. Between 2019 and 2021, SpaceX conducted multiple suborbital test flights to evaluate various aspects of the vehicle. The first full stack, consisting of Ship 24 and Booster 7, launched on April 20, 2023, establishing Starship as the tallest and most powerful rocket ever launched. SpaceX will continue to iterate on the design of Starship until it is capable of bringing humans back to the Moon and bringing us to Mars.
